Welcome

Soap and Furry Pet Grooming is a Stamford based, professional salon set-up by City and Guilds qualified Groomer Carly in 2020. We’re a friendly, close knit team who love to work with your dogs of all shapes and sizes and since February 2024 we welcome your cats to the salon too!

Why Choose Us

Soap and Furry prides itself on using the highest quality, all natural vegan products; all carefully selected to suit your pets coat and skin condition leaving the coat smelling fantastic, whilst caring for their skin.

We don’t operate a one size fit’s all approach; each service is tailored to suit your pet in order to ensure the experience is an enjoyable one for your furry friend.

Animal welfare is our upmost priority so at Soap and Furry we work with you to ensure, as much possible, your preferences are put forward to a style to suit your lifestyle and plans.

"Our aim, to ensure your pets enjoy the grooming experience and are happy to come back for a visit, keeping them calm, happy and tails wagging from drop off to collection"

Our Services

Grooming your pet is an essential part of ownership, not only to keep their coat healthy and free from matting along with curing & preventing any skin complaints, it also creates a great bond between you and your pet whilst allowing for health checking as you are able to find any ailments much sooner than if you relied on something to stand out visually or a routine vet check-up.

Once you have visited us, we will advise on grooming maintenance you can do at home, what tools to use and techniques to keep on top of their look, including style ideas and how to ensure their coat stays healthy between grooms and an ideal grooming schedule.

Prior to each appointment, you will receive a consultation to ensure your requirements are understood and we can do our best to achieve what you have in mind for your pet and have them leave feeling fabulous.

The icing on the cake, they look fantastic, smell beautiful and tend to leave less hair around.

Perfect for any pup who’s a little bit stinky and in need of a clean, in-between full grooms or a tidy up. We’ll use an all-natural shampoo suited to their coat, followed by a condition (if needed for those with longer/damaged coats), a blow dry before giving them a good brush through. To finish, they’ll get a delightful spray of doggy fragrance!

As with the Brush, Bath and Dry package, we’ll use an all-natural shampoo suited to their coat, followed by a condition (if needed for those with longer/damaged coats), a blow dry and will give them a good brush through. We also tend to their nails, sanitary area and ears and should it be needed, will give a quick trim to their eye area and paws. To finish, they’ll get a generous spray of doggy fragrance.

A full groom encompasses all the elements in the first two packages and carries on where we style the dog to your preference/breed standard. To finish, they’ll get a nice spray of doggy fragrance.

A technique used for dogs that coat does not shed naturally. We’ll achieve a full groom package using the hand-stripping process by hand and using tools.

We’ll take it at the puppies pace, starting off slowly; having a play, cuddle and a few treats to gain their trust and ensure our salon is a place they like to visit. We’ll then take them one step at a time through each element of the grooming process, doing as much as we can each time until we achieve a full groom.

We offer a range of special treatments which can be added to any groom, including a specialist mud de-shed treatment, Anti Stain Facial and Ultrasonic Teeth Cleaning

We understand that cats and dogs don’t tend to mix well and we therefore have separate facilities for your pet so that they don’t experience any unnecessary stress during their visit with us. Our cat area is a one-stop-shop spa experience for your pet with bathing, de-matting, claw clipping, grooming, eye and ear cleaning on hand. You can rest assured that your cat will be treated with kindness and care during their visit to us, and to ensure a low stress environment for your pet we take a number of steps:

  • We always use two groomers for each cat – one to hold and talk to the cat to keep them calm, and one to groom
  • We treat the room, the treatment area, the cat and the equipment with calming scents to minimise stress
  • We are never heavy handed – we will not scruff your cat during a groom

Cat Grooming services offered are:

  • Claw Clipping
  • Dry Bath & Groom
  • Wet Bath & Groom
  • Full Groom – clipping & styling / matt removal

A Little Bit About Us

Carly – Salon Owner & Head Groomer

Carly, a Welshie living in Stamford, set-up Soap and Furry after qualifying as a Level 3 City and Guilds Groomer at the Just 4 Paws grooming school in Nottingham, training with the highly decorated Amy Manser and Karen Davidson.

Carly worked in the Motorsport Industry for the majority of her life having raced competitively for 18 years herself also running corporate and race events for a day job, she wanted a change to follow her desire to work with dogs, taking a different direction in career all together, setting up Soap and Furry in 2020.

Carly runs Soap and Furry with the help of her in house service testers, Reggie, the Fox Red Labrador & Ronnie the Miniature Poodle. Carly completed her Cat Grooming Qualification with Pooch Perfect Winner Kelly Davis in January 2024.

Kimberly – Salon Manager – Senior Groomer

Kimberly moved from Wales to work with Carly once the business moved to the Scotgate salon in July 2021.

Since moving to Stamford Kimberly threw herself into a new career, originally working as admin and bathing support in the salon, she decided to take the plunge and train to be a groomer at Just 4 Paws in January 2022.

Previously, Kimberly has had many hats, working as a care worker, media support on cruise liners and Camp America as well as a Barista. She’s the crazy dog lady who owns a rather tall rescue Rottie called Archie who’s daft as a brush but very reactive to other dogs while on lead.

Elle – Junior Stylist

Elle joined the Soap and Furry Team in October 2022 and is undergoing an apprenticeship at the salon to complete her Level 2 Grooming Assistants qualification.

Previously Elle has worked in retail and then began her own jewellery business (@ellecreatesstudio) in 2020 making clay earrings from her home.

She realised that she missed working around people and has always wanted to work with animals. The perfect opportunity arose to join the team at Soap & Furry.

Elle is from Bourne, now living in Deeping and has three cats, called Nova, Ziggy and Willow. In the future, we’re sure she’ll have a pup of her own!

Paige – Junior Stylist

Paige joined the Soap and Furry Team in August 2023 following completing her Level 3 City & Guilds training at the College of West Anglia. Having worked in retail and hospitality, Paige wanted to follow her passion of working with animals and started her college training in 2021. Peterborough born and bred, Paige is family orientated, loves travelling and has a Pug called Brian.
